Naperville Reviews

We moved to Naperville with remote jobs that allowed us to live anywhere. Why? The schools and the community! People are genuine friends here and the park district offers so many activities. The teachers in D203 are professional and teach a “can’t do YET” positivity mindset. The downtown makes the city feel small and vibrant. Summer is the best season here with Centennial Beach, swim teams for the kids and outdoor concerts. In winter residents decorated their houses in creative themes with the goal of getting on the Believe Map. There is even a Christmas trolley that drives past the best homes. Naperville is not very economical diverse, but it is international! We are European immigrants and there are people of all nationalities and many language opportunities for kids. We have moved many times and Naperville was the easiest place to feel at home.
After extensive research, we moved to Naperville from LA. Naperville's vibrant downtown and award-winning river walk is something out of a fairytale, with two covered footbridges, beautiful landscaping, paddleboats, and Centennial Beach are wonderful. The town has four of five ice cream parlors, restaurants for anyone's budget, and plenty of shopping, including an Apple Store! There are lots of free public parking and no meters!
Naperville has an amazing park system for biking, hiking, and sports galore. On the outskirts of the city limits, there are two Costcos (I have no idea why) and every other big box store you'd want.
The express train is an easy 30 mins to downtown Chicago with nine major sports teams, more than 70 museums, over 250 theaters, and a whopping 8,000 restaurants.
We love it here and wish we had found it sooner.

I’ve lived in many places throughout my life, Orlando, the Tampa Bay area, New York, and Vermont. Literally the one thing missing for me to say this place is absolutely perfect is mountains, but this place is an amazing place to settle down with a family and raise kids. It’s incredibly safe. The schools are great (when I taught at UChicago a decade ago, the kid with the highest grade in honors gen chem was a Naperville North grad) Mostly all of your neighbors have kids anywhere you are, the city infrastructure and culture is designed for people who have families, there’s a great interconnected nature trail network for biking and running, lots of park district activities, and the downtown Naperville area actually has some pretty great things in terms of nightlife and restaurants. And if you want a great Michelin starred restaurant or world class art, culture, and nightlife, you can drive into Chicago easily. More people come back here after growing up here than anywhere else in the US.
